#GarudaSelect lost 0-1 against Swindon Town U18, Tuesday (13/4). Director of Football #GarudaSelect, Dennis Wise said his team lost because of their own mistakes.
"Our first half performance was very good and I think Swindon also played a stronger team in the first half. The way we pressed and won the ball was very good and we also controlled the game," said Coach Dennis. However, I am disappointed with our performance in the second half, especially from the way we moved, passed the ball and pressed the opponent. It's very disappointing to lose because we created a lot of opportunities to score goals, but still we were not good enough, "explained Coach Dennis.
#GarudaSelect players, Elia Di Guiliomaria and Faiz Maulana agree with Coach Dennis and think the match against Swindon is an important lesson for them on how to correct the mistakes. "We played competitively in the first half, but in the second half we ourselves made too many mistakes. We created a lot of chances, while the opponent scored from the only one chance they had during the match, “ said Elia.
"Coach Dennis told the players that our performance in the first half was brilliant and Coach Des also only gave few inputs. The score was not optimal, but it’s most important that we learn from the match, move on and continue to improve in every match," said Faiz.
Next, #GarudaSelect will face QPR U18 in a match broadcast live on Mola TV on April 17th. This match will be an opportunity for players to gain more knowledge because QPR U18 is a Professional Development League team which is a youth competition one level higher than Swindon.
