Special Training to Improve Players’ Physical Endurance and Strength

The coaching team has decided to conduct intensive physical training so that the players will be better prepared for the next match after the lockdown.

Because of the current lockdown in England , the Garuda Select matches have simply been postponed. That's Why the coaching team has decided to conduct intensive physical training so that the players will be better prepared for the next match after the lockdown.

Garuda Select Physical Trainer, Jake Fitzsimmons has prepared a special program for the players. "We do physical strengthening & conditioning sessions in the morning for an hour, then there are exercises for stability with movements such as planks and side planks. Then there is also a sit-up menu that must be done by all players," said Jake.

"To strengthen the upper body, there is an overhead press movement, namely the movement of lifting weights perpendicular to the head using a resistance band. This exercise will make the players physically stronger. There is also a session to train balance and stability with the Garuda Select Physiotherapist, Ellie Hargreaves. The real hard work occurs in running training sessions," added Jake.

Running, both short and long distances, is a mandatory menu for players. Running training is important for improving the physical condition of the players. According to Jake, this training program is a routine, common and important program in professional football clubs.

"Our hope is that with this training session the players' muscles will be more developed and it will help them to be stronger and more explosive on the pitch," said Jake.
