Overcoming Homesick Feelings While Away from Home

Being away from their home for months in the UK made #GarudaSelect players begin to miss their families.

Being away from their home for months in the UK made #GarudaSelect players begin to miss their families. Chatting on the phone or on a video call is a way for players to get over their homesickness.


"Certainly I miss my parents in Indonesia. Communication via video call is a way to get rid of homesickness. During the calls parents always advices and motivation. Tht’s why I stay motivated and train with great enthusiasm in order to achieve my dreams," said Muhammad Faiz Maulana.


"Yeah I really miss my dear family. Every day I definitely contact my family either by phone or video call," said Ridwan Ansori. "I usually call my family at lunch time. The conversation is light. They ask how I am doing here and I tell them about my training, friends, weathers. Chatting with them is good to get over my homesickness," said Ibnul Mubarak.


"I certainly miss my family in Italy. Every day I contact them via video call because it makes them feel close to me," said Elia Di Giuliomaria.


“I do miss my family in Tanzania, especially my mother who has always supported me to play football since I was young. I contact my family every day because hearing news about them and getting their support is very important to me," said Shabani Mbwana Kingazi.


"Missing my family is certain and I routinely call friends and family in Indonesia to ask how they are. Their support is so important because currently I am working hard to develop myself in #GarudaSelect program,” explained Roki.
