Elia Di Giulomaria and Rafli Asrul are selected by Coach Dennis as Men of The Match in #GarudaSelect match against Watford U16, Saturday (1/5) evening WIB. According to Coach Dennis, both players played important role in the #GarudaSelect victory against Watford .
Having left behind 0-1 in the first half, the #GarudaSelect team managed to equalize and even lead in the second half. Elia and Rafli each contributed one goal each. "Elia was always in the midfield and moved around well. Elia was waiting inside and he broke the opponent’s attack for us. He really played an important role in today's match," said Coach Dennis.
"Rafli also played very well today, especially with the beautiful goal he scored from a long range. He has technical ability but he was unlucky not to score his second goal. Rafli has been very good when he holds the ball and he is continuously working hard," added Coach Dennis.
"I am very happy that I was able to score goal from free kick because I have practiced free kicks every day after training hours. Finally I was able to score goal," said Elia.
As for Rafli, the goal against Watford U17 is his fourth goal for the third batch of #GarudaSelect. "After trailing 0-1 , I tried to be more focused and more confident in the second half. Edgard (Amping) gave a fine through ball and I moved past one player before directing a shot at the opponent's goal which turned into a goal," said Rafli. .
