Ibnul's Struggle to Increase Physical Strength

#Garudaselect defender, Ibnul Mubarak, believes that the strenuous exercise he has undertaken daily will be very beneficial for his future.

#Garudaselect defender, Ibnul Mubarak, believes that the strenuous exercise he has undertaken daily will be very beneficial for his future. On several occasions, he is actually very exhausted.

"The pre-season program is very tough. We have to run every morning. Moreover, when we ran for the first time, we were given a target of having to cover five kilometres in less than 20 minutes. It is different from Indonesia where the hardest run is regular sprinting," said Ibnul.

“The intensity of training here is very high. In Indonesia, we only practice two or three times a week. But here I can practice twice a day, on the field and in the gym. Previously, I never had a gym. Moreover, in lockdown situation like now, the number of daily training can be increased to three times, " he continued.

The Garuda Select squad is indeed forged at high intensity with various training methods during the lockdown situation in England. They are given a pre-season training program by the coaching team to increase their stamina and physical strength.

Not all players are able to complete training quickly. This is fairly reasonable because the adaptation process of the players has not taken two months yet. However, Ibnul was able to overcome these challenges.

“I have to force myself because this is good for myself. After running six kilometres, coach Danny (Holmes) asked me to add one more kilometre. I try to do my best, for the sake of improving my physique and strength," he explained.

Although he has only briefly trained in England, the player who plays as a center-back has benefited from various physical training courses in the #GarudaSelect Program. “I have increased my scale, my body is bigger. I feel much stronger when I have to fight one on one on the field," said Ibnul.
