#Garudaselect will be able to Normally Train and Compete again

Updated: Mar 21, 2021

Lockdown restrictions have begun to be eased across the UK.

A really good news for the third batch #Garudaselect squad: Following the easing of England's national lockdown, they can immediately return to normal training and compete against other teams starting March 29, 2021.

Lockdown restrictions have begun to be eased across the UK. Since March 8 the British government has allowed schools and colleges to reopen. There were feelings of relief for the #Garudaselect players who have been training in a lockdown situation since early January 2021.

"The easing of lockdown has begun. So, this is a good thing. Hopefully, if the number of positive cases of Covid-19 remains low, then we can carry out normal exercises as of March 29," said Garuda Select physiotherapist Ellie Hargreaves, who is also the Covid Officer of #GarudaSelect Program.

"The players are very happy, especially because so far they can only train in a small group. So this is really good news. This is also a good opportunity for us too because we have enough time to prepare before they return to normal training and competitive matches," added Ellie.

"For now, we will still undergo training in its current method. New changes will be at the end of this month," explained Ellie.

During the UK lockdown, the Garuda Select squad has continued to implement extra strict health protocols. They train in a bubble system at the Loughborough University Complex to avoid the spread of Covid-19. In addition, they can only undergo fitness and physical training in their respective rooms.
