#GarudaSelect Midfielders Learn from the Best


As midfielders, these four players claim to have learned many valuable lessons from Coach Dennis.

#GarudaSelect players still remember very well how they were feeling when they were selected join #GarudaSelect Program in England until they finally are being trained under the direction of world football legends such as Dennis Wise and Des Walker.


Four players namely Ridho Syuhada, Elia Di Guilomatia, Novak Iskandar and Rendy Sanjaya share what they have felt. As midfielders, these four players claim to have learned many valuable lessons from Coach Dennis. Especially the attitude as a midfielder who has to control the rhythm of the game from midfield.


"I get lessons on how to control the ball as much as possible. Also I learn to have a good positioning when I guard the opponent. I should not lose the ball easily because the opponent can get benefit for building up an attack, “said Noval Junior.


"We have to make decisions quickly at certain moments. We have to know when to have the ball, when to pass, and also we have to move fast and in the right direction. We must be able to take advantage of the gaps between the opposing defenders so we can pass the ball to the attackers in frontline," said Ridho Syuhada.


In addition, they also get familiar with playing in the diamond formation system. For them, this is a new experience and it helps them to have effective reception and distribution of the ball. "Playing with this scheme allows many friends around me to help so that it becomes easier for me to distribute the ball. In addition, fellow midfielders are also more compact because they can move without worrying that they are losing positions or getting scattered," said Elia.


Besides regularly getting intensive physical training, the players have also been learning about various tactics and game schemes. A good understanding about tactics and game schemes is very important so that they can become more capable football players.
