#GarudaSelect's Director of Football, Dennis Wise, thinks that overall it's an outstanding performance.
The Third Season #GarudaSelect team earned its first win in England. They won 5-1 against Queens Park Rangers U18 at the QPR Academy field, Saturday (17/4) afternoon, Western Indonesian Time. #GarudaSelect's Director of Football, Dennis Wise, thinks that overall it's an extraordinary performance.
#GarudaSelect were already three goals ahead in the first half through two goals from Hokky Caraka (11 ', 26') and one goal from M. Faiz Maulana (42 '). In the second half, #GarudaSelect's lead increased through goals scored by Rafli Asrul (46 ') and Wahyu Agong Drajat (67').
"I think we played very well, especially in the first half. We performed as expected and were able to lead several goals. We made several substitutions to give playing minutes to other players," said Coach Dennis.
"The players put pressure on the opponents well. It is important that we played as a team. I am also very satisfied because they played effectively when they got the chance. Overall, the work ethic of the players was at a high level, especially the way they were passionate about it.
"The passes of the players were also of quality and they created problems for QPR," said Coach Dennis.
QPR U18 narrowed the gap through with a penalty goal in the injury time of the second half. Coach Dennis regrets the goal.
"The only thing that disappoints me is that we conceded a goal. I wanted us to keep a clean sheet and we should be able to do that. I have to be honest that it was a bad way of defending (that forced you to commit a foul) and it is quite disappointing,” added Coach Dennis.
Next #GarudaSelect is scheduled to face Leeds United U18 on Tuesday, 20 April 2021. "This victory will give confidence to the players. This is very important because in the future we will face some tough opponents, such as Leeds, Huddersfield Town, Watford, Crystal Palace,” said Coach Dennis ending the interview.
