Muhammad Faqih Maulana, Muhammad Faiz Maulana, and Frezy Al-Hudaifi were friends since their childhood. Now, the three of them have joined the Garuda Select Program with one dream of playing in the European League.
Together with Garuda Select, Faqih played as a center back, Frezy as midfielder and Faiz as the attacker.
"Three of us are really close. I met Frezy for the first time at the age of 9 or 10 in the Indonesia Junior Soccer League. Meanwhile, I met Faiz at the Menpora Tournament at the age of 13. The three of us are very close like brothers and our respective parents are also always in touch to each other, "said Faqih.
"It's great to be able to play together again in England. From childhood, we have been together and now together we are fighting to achieve our dreams," said Frezy.
"Here in UK I often chat with Faqih and Frezy. Usually, we talk about our performance in the field, training. We also like to play online games together, but not only three of us because we are also close with other Garuda Select friends, "added Faiz.
Faqih added that he had memorable experiences with Frezy and Faiz. Especially with Frezy, both of them strengthen Bhayangkara FC at the 2019 Elite Pro Academy U-16.
"My most memorable experience with Frezy was when we were runner-up of the EPA U-16. At that time we almost won but lost to Tira-Persikabo with a score of 1-2. With Faiz, the current experience in England is the most memorable one," said Faqih.
"We often discuss our dream when we are together. Our dream is not only to play in European clubs but also to play together for the Indonesian National Team in the upcoming World Cup," added Faiz.
