Dustin Pratama Bramantio, the Surabaya-born player's childhood was not close to sports, let alone football. It was the persistence of Dustin's father that finally made him fall in love and has been dreaming of becoming a professional football player.
"As a child I didn't like to play sports because it made me sick. When I was five years old, my father took me to the field to play football and I cried," Dustin recalls. "My father did not give up and instead bought me a ball to play in the room or in the yard of our house. Slowly I started to like to play the ball until finally I continuously like to play football," said Dustin.
"My father saw my talent and always motivated me to play football. To improve my skills, I was enrolled in SSB at the age of seven. After that, I could not get away from football and keep training in order to achieve my dream to become a professional player and to play for the national team," said Dustin.
Dustin's efforts began to pay off when he entered the Persela Lamongan U-16 squad for the 2019 Elite Pro Academy. Dustin's good performance led him to be called to participate in the second batch of #GarudaSelect selection.
"I was invited for the second season selection, but that year I wasn't old enough and finally I was told to go home. For a year I focused on developing my football skills until finally I was invited again to the third season selection and Alhamdulilah, I passed," said Dustin.
"Passing the #GarudaSelect selection is like a dream comes true and I won't waste this great opportunity. I think the #GarudaSelect program is an important step to develop myself to become a professional player. I want to seek as much experience as possible and focus on serious training so that I can become a better footballer. My parents and a lot of people have sacrificed a lot for me and I do not want to disappoint them," said Dustin.
