Development of Muscle Mass of #GarudaSelect Players

This test aims to monitor the levels of muscle mass and fat in a player's body so that they can maximize their performance, both in training and competition.

One of the routine agendas carried out in the #GarudaSelect Program is a fat test. This test aims to monitor the levels of muscle mass and fat in a player's body so that they can maximize their performance, both in training and competition.

The fat test is performed by the #GarudaSelect Physical Trainer, Jake Fitzsimmons himself. According to him, overall, the players have showed positive developments regarding muscle mass and body fat levels. Going forward, Coach Jake will continue to monitor so that the players can maintain the desired level.

"We measure several things ranging from body weight, height, to skin folds, and based on that we calculate the percentage of fat under the skin. Each player has a different goal from this test, depending on what we want to shape them for,” said Coach Jake.

"If their body composition is good with increased muscle mass and low fat content, we will continue to keep them at that level. Then if there are players who have to increase muscle mass and reduce fat levels, we will provide them with nutrition or change their training plans. So it all depends on at what level the player is."

This is the third test carried out this season. So, every month, the players will continue to be monitored the composition of their muscles and body fat. Nutritional intake through what they eat is also a special concern for the coaching team. According to Coach Jake, education about this will also continue to be delivered so that players can be more responsible for their own bodies.

"The progress throughout the season can be monitored. How the players maintain their nutritional intake, and we also continue to educate them about what they can and should not eat to become an athlete. But all the players are showing good progress," he continued.

The increase in muscle mass of the players cannot be separated from the intensive training that recently has been applied, especially during pre-season training which is physically exhausting. So, according to the coaching team, currently the players only have to maintain their condition at an optimal level.
