According to Des Walker, #GarudaSelect players now only need to improve several aspects to be able to continously boost the quality of the game.
Three days after the match against Cheltenham U18, the #GarudaSelect team is now preparing to return to fight Swindon Town U18 on Tuesday (13/4). #GarudaSelect Head Coach, Des Walker, was delighted to see the enthusiasm of his players in the previous match. According to him, #GarudaSelect players now only need to improve several aspects to be able to continously boost the quality of the game.
"The players need to be able to maintain a good rhythm in the middle of the current match schedule. The match will obviously become a challenge for them. But with their experiences in previous matches, I am pretty sure they know what to do," said Coach Des.
"So the point is now they have to play to their full potential and show their best abilities. If they can flow the ball well, of course the goals will surely come. Also the back line must be even getting tighter. I really hope there will be improvements in tomorrow's match," added Des.
Coach Des added that the players must also be able to make decisions that do not cost the team. One of them is avoiding violations that result in free kicks. Cheltenham's first goal in the previous match was the result of a free kick.
"From a defensive point of view, there are still some players who tackle from the wrong direction, making the opponents to get free kicks easily. The players have to be more patient in both defending and passing the ball," said Coach Des.
"They will continue to familiarize themselves with the physical play of teams in England. If you are more accustomed to it, the confidence will increase and will be able to control the game in accordance with our wishes," added Des.
